Father’s Day to my husband
By Kristen Vicente
I asked my husband what Father’s Day means to him and his response was that it celebrates the new identity that he received when his children were born. Not so much a celebration of him, but what the boys mean to him. I know that being a good father is very important to my husband because he grew up without a father. He always knew that above all he would be there for his children. It was one of the first things that attracted me to him.
Not only is he a great father, but he’s also a wonderful husband. He jokes that the kids and I would starve if something were to happen to him because he does 95% of the cooking! I’m a lucky woman because he always makes sure that we have everything we need.
I asked him what he wanted to do on his special day, and all he wants is to spend time with us. His ideal day is having lunch, seeing a movie, and getting some ice cream with his family. I can handle that! Especially because there is no cooking involved!
